3 Easy Ways To Create an Energizing Morning Routine
By Kelly Ray
Let’s face it…getting up out of bed (especially on those cold winter mornings) can sometimes be the hardest part of the day. But it has to be done. Having a reliable and consistent morning routine is the best defense to fight off those urges to stay in bed.
Earlier is Better
Oddly enough, the key to feeling energized in the morning is to wake up earlier. Those who wake up earlier are more likely to eat breakfast. At risk of sounding like that cliche person I will say that breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Eating breakfast will kickstart your metabolism so you are burning calories all day. It will also give you the energy and focus to get through those awesome 8am exams that bombard you with questions you’ve never seen before.

A Little Extra Love
Another benefit to waking up early is you can devote more time to caring for your skin. It’s that time of year where the harsh and unpredictable Wisconsin weather is an unavoidable joy we all have to face, leaving many of us with painfully dry skin. Waking up early gives you the time to give your skin a little extra love by exfoliating, moisturizing, and cleansing.

Set the Day With Goals
The last morning routine I love to do is before I leave my apartment is I create a mental list of goals I want to get accomplished that day. By setting these goals for myself I set up expectations for myself of what I need to get done that day. This one is great for if you are working on time management or if you’re like me you need a list of things to be done before retreating to netflix.
