The Medical Clinic? You mean the building next to Schroeder Complex? Isn’t that just where you go to get your flu shot or for when you’re sick?

Well, that’s what I thought at least.

My name is Taylor Lefaiver, I am a junior at Marquette, and I am also a Wellness Peer Educator (also known as WPE). Now what is that exactly?

Here in the 707 Building (tucked away by Cobeen and Carpenter) there is an entire wing dedicated to the Medical Clinic! The Wellness Peer Educators are a group of 9 students dedicated to helping other Marquette students adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle by providing wellness education, involvement, and different resources. All 9 of us have different passions and love sharing them with others. Our free yoga and meditation classes are our more popular programs provided for Marquette students; but we also have programs related to sleep, healthy eating and nutrition, stress, strength training for women, and more!

Now who are these mysterious Wellness Peer Educators? You may have seen us around campus before putting on programs and presentations, but it might be time to formally introduce ourselves…

I hope this gives you a little bit better idea of who the Wellness Peer Educators are and what we do on campus! We provide health education programming to the Residence Halls and different groups on campus and serve as liaisons between students and the Medical Clinic. We also partner with clubs and organizations for events like the Wellness Fair and our very own Late Night event!

We’d love to make this blog a regular stop for Marquette students for healthy topics that are interesting, so please leave comments on subjects you’d like to see us write about in the future. And if you ever see us on campus, feel free to stop and talk to us. We promise we don’t bite…
